Janine Blythe has been appointed as our new Chief Executive and immediately starts her role as she aims to drive Chorley’s new youth facility forward.
The project is fast becoming a reality with the recent news that a planning application to build Inspire Youth Zone was approved by Chorley Council, whilst The Queen’s Trust have recently donated £500k to support the town’s young people.
Janine joins Inspire having worked to support young people in Lancashire for almost 20 years, delivering the Connextions Service and a range of employability and support projects.
Her role as Chief Executive of Chorley Youth Zone will be to raise the annual running costs through forming dynamic partnerships between the local private sector, local authority, young people and the community.
As the Youth Zone moves closer to opening, Janine’s attention will then shift to the recruitment of a high quality team of trained staff and volunteers who will act as role models for young people to help them achieve their full potential. The staff team will grow rapidly following the arrival of the Youth Zone’s first youth worker, Michelle Graham, who joined the team last month and continues her role to engage local young people and community partners in the project.
Chairman of Chorley Youth Zone, Andrew Turner commented: “I am delighted that Janine has been appointed Inspire’s Chief Executive. Janine has a wealth of experience in the sector and I am positive her appointment will be of huge benefit to the Youth Zone and young people in Chorley.”
Chorley Youth Zone Chief Executive Janine Blythe commented: “I am motivated to make a huge difference to the young people of Chorley and I believe that the Youth Zone is the perfect vehicle to do this. I am delighted to have been appointed Chief Executive in Chorley, where I live, and I look forward to working with many different individuals, companies and agencies in the area in order to improve the lives and prospects of local young people.”
With planning consent granted back in July, construction work on our Youth Zone will start later this year.
