Working with young people age 8-19 (25 with additional needs), we transform lives helping them be the best they can be.
Opening in 2018, we’re 7 years old this year, and in those 7 years, we haven’t stopped learning, and we haven’t stopped developing. From a global pandemic to the cost of living crisis, we are there for young people when they need us and adapt to their ever-changing needs.
Open 7 days a week when schools are shut, at our most basic, we provide somewhere to go, something to do, and someone to talk to. Our ‘see it to believe it’ facilities give young people access to a range of activities, opens doors to a world of opportunities, and provides the perfect space to develop new relationships with both peers and positive role models.
Through our doors you’ll find; a 3G pitch, gym, sports hall, climbing wall, dance studio, music room and much more.
Inspire isn’t just be a place to go, it’s a place to grow. And that’s as much about young people as it our staff team.

This role plays a key part in Inspire’s Income Generation Strategy by leading bid writing to secure funding and helping coordinate successful projects linked to secured funding. You will identify available funding opportunities, build a pipeline of grants, trusts, and contracts, and create high-quality submissions to secure income aligned with Inspire’s plans and goals. A strong bid writer or someone with transferable skills, you’ll be self-motivated, action-oriented, and have excellent written and verbal communication and organisational skills. You’ll enjoy taking funding applications from start to finish and building strong relationships to deliver impact. With a proven track record in bid writing and project development, you’ll understand how to meet or exceed funder expectations for continued support. An organised, strategic thinker, you’ll quickly grasp how Youth Zone’s operate and create strategies to secure funding that aligns with delivery goals. You’ll use research and writing skills to craft compelling grant applications that ensure success. | |

As a member of Inspire’s Detached team you will be key in ensuring young people have access to an exciting detached programme that will be challenging, stimulating, fun, engaging and developmental. Detached youth work takes place in areas young people feel most comfortable such as on the street, in parks and around their neighborhoods. Detached work provides informal education by bringing information to young people ,listening and hearing their needs and creating projects which support the detached programme. | |

We are looking for a tech savvy creative individual to run sessions in our Makers Zone Space for the young people of Chorley aged 8 – 19 years old (25 with disabilities). The purpose built ‘Makers Zone’ offers a wide range of technical and creative opportunities including, 3D printing, coding, electronics & programming, STEM, molding & casting and much more. Making, alongside sport, the arts and health/ Wellbeing is at the heart of Inspire Youth Zone’s offer to young people. As a Training Kitchen Youth Worker, you’ll be based in ‘Be Tasty’, our dedicated cooking space for young people. We’re looking for someone who has great baking skills but who also has the passion and patience to teach young people age 8-19 members how to unleash their culinary genius. The Recreation area is the heart of Inspire and the social hub – its a flexible space where anything can happen. As a member of the rec team you’ll be ensuring young people have access to an exciting and engaging programme in which anybody can participate. You’ll help to create a space that is warm, welcoming, active and full of life and challenge. Together with the Senior Session Coordinators, you will implement a programme of activities in our recreation area that is exciting, challenging and ever changing. The role is 100% face to face delivery with young people. | |

Matt Hirst is the CEO of leading energy technology provider ESG with over 700 staff and operations in the USA, Canada and the UK. ESG’s UK headquarters are based in Chorley, Lancashire.
ESG empowers global leaders in energy to deliver on the future promise of energy through its SAAS solutions for Customer and Market Data Management and Smart Metering. Matt has a background in Sales and Marketing and led a MBO of UK company Utiligroup in 2014 before it was acquired by ESG in 2017 and has been with the business for 24 years. Matt won an EY Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2016 as well as being a judge in 2018 and in 2017 his team was awarded the UK Regional and National Mid Market Management Team of the Year awards by the BVCA. Matt holds a BSc (Hons) degree from The University of Salford and a MBA from Lancaster University.
