Chorley’s £4.8m Inspire Youth Zone is one step closer to opening to thousands of young people as building work is now complete.

Inspire Youth Zone which hosts a newly installed indoor climbing wall, underground 3G football pitch, two court sports hall, dance studio, fully equipped gym and much more, will be open to young people for just 50p per visit.

Finishing touches to the interior are being made throughout the world-class facility in preparation for Inspire’s official opening on Saturday 5th May. The family-friend event is free of charge and open to the public 12:30pm-3pm followed by Inspire’s very first Senior Club which is open to young people aged 12-19  from 4pm till 10pm.

Over the next few weeks, the Youth Zone will host a number of special events for schools, partner organisations and supporters, allowing young people to get a taste of Inspire Youth Zone before the official opening.

Once officially open, the Youth Zone will open 7 days per week, offering young people aged 8-19 and up to 25 for those with a disability, a wide range of fun and exciting activities including sports, fitness, dance, music, media, cooking and much more.

Located on Chapel Street, opposite the train station and next to the bus station, Inspire Youth Zone aims to give young people the opportunity to make positive use of their leisure time, costing them just £5 per year and 50p per visit.

The project has not gone un-noticed with almost 600 young people from across Chorley already signed up as Youth Zone members. Young people that sign up before 5th May will be entered into a prize draw, with the opportunity to win a sleepover at Inspire for them and 10 friends.

Janine Blythe, Chief Executive said: “We are delighted that building work at Inspire Youth Zone is now complete, people will now be able to physically see the vision become a reality for the young people of Chorley. It promises to be an inspiring place that provides the town’s young people with somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.”
