Broadening Horizons

You can’t dream of becoming something you don’t know exists.

And every young person deserves the opportunity to discover what’s out there, explore new interests and imagine a future full of possibilities.

That’s why we created Broadening Horizons, bringing the world of work to life in a way that’s anything but ordinary.

And now, we’re taking it one step further.

Forget everything you know about careers fairs.

No rows of exhibition stands. No endless presentations. No asking young people what they want to be when they grow up.

Our Broadening Horizons Series is all about giving young people the chance to experience something new, discover industries they’ve never considered and meet the people behind them.

Throughout the year, we’re inviting businesses into Inspire during our regular sessions to deliver fun, interactive activities that give young people a taste of their world.

It could be building something, solving a challenge, creating a product, testing out technology or having a go at something they’ve never even heard of before.

The possibilities are endless. And that’s rather the point.

Could your business open someone’s eyes to a whole new world?

We’re looking for businesses of all shapes, sizes and sectors to get involved.

You don’t need to arrive with a polished presentation or a ready-made workshop. In fact, that’s exactly what we don’t want!

We want you to think about what makes your industry interesting, exciting or surprising and how you could bring a little piece of it to life for our young people.

Our team can work with you to shape an activity that suits your business, your people and the young people taking part.

Whether you’re in construction, finance, engineering, healthcare, hospitality, technology, the creative industries or something completely different, there’s a place for you in Broadening Horizons.

Because sometimes, all it takes is one experience to spark an interest, uncover a talent or open a door a young person never knew was there.

Ready to broaden some horizons?

Join our Broadening Horizons Series and help show Chorley’s young people just how many possibilities are waiting for them.
