October 2018 marked 6 months since the opening of Inspire Youth Zone and the month was tied up by two events including the Junior’s Tick or Treat Night on 30th and the Senior’s Scarefest, dubbed ‘Nightmare on Chapel Street’, on the 31st.

Young People of Chorley who are members at Inspire enjoyed a Halloween party at the Youth Zone with themed games, a DJ set and a constructed, scary maze. Senior’s also took part in three terrifying, live-action horror rooms.

Members were immersed into a world of Chorley’s ‘horrendous’ (and fictional!) past, as they moved through these rooms, interacting with the actors in each one including a bloody butcher, a plague doctor and a Pennywise-esque clown.

The events, however, wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and generous nature of local businesses, Inspire staff and volunteers.

Inspire Youth Zone would like to thank One Stop Hire Ltd. for lending us fencing panels to construct the maze and would also like to thank Carrington Textiles for donating large rolls of fabric for use in each of the horror rooms as well as the maze.

Another massive thank you to Mike Hadden of Just for Fun Entertainment Services, who kindly lent Inspire Youth Zone a number of lights for use throughout the Youth Zone as well as giving Inspire his own time to set up the party lighting, with Deck Entertainment and Wigan Youth Zone also generously allowing the use of lighting which helped complete the scenes and moods for each room.

Finally, these events are impossible to run without the enormous help from our staff and volunteers that give Inspire their own time to ensure these events are the best they can possibly be.

Thank you to everyone who pulled together across both days to help out – you make these wonderful events possible for Young People in Chorley.

If you’re interested in volunteering, you can visit this page or contact Michelle.Graham@inspireyouthzone.org for more details.
