Inspire Chorley Youth Zone is delighted to welcome Karen Lea as their latest Charity Ambassador to help raise awareness of the impact of their work, across the borough and encourage much needed support.

Inspire has been helping the young people of Chorley since opening its doors in May 2018, creating opportunities for children to make new friends in a safe environment, raise aspirations, access early intervention support and most importantly have fun!

With £1.1m to raise each year, the charity, which was considered an essential service throughout the pandemic, hope’s Karen’s appointment will help to increase their visibility across the business sector and encourage more local companies to help wherever they can.

Speaking about her appointment to the charity, Karen said –

“I’m so blown away by the work being done at Inspire, it needs to be shouted from the rooftops! Thousands of local young people are using their services, but the charity needs as much help as possible to reach local businesses and share how their work is transforming young lives – I hope I can help to bridge this gap.”

“The team at Inspire Youth Zone are delivering so many life changing, life enhancing and even lifesaving activities but urgently need help from us all to continue this amazing work.”

Inspire Head of Fundraising, Karen Hunter said “We’re hugely grateful to Karen for volunteering to take on this Ambassador role. We are a very small Fundraising Team and our Ambassadors do an incredible job helping us to engage with the wider community. It can be quite a challenge to share our stories, but with an extensive network, combined with Karen’s passion for all that we do, this is a dream partnership!”

“Since we first opened, how we fundraise has evolved rapidly. We are a community charity and we hope the local business community will embrace this opportunity to support the thousands of young people who live in our town and empower them to achieve great things for the future of Chorley.”

Karen is the latest Ambassador to join Inspire following Andrew Dunn (CG Professional) as Business Ambassador and Sir Lindsay Hoyle as Honorary Patron earlier this year.
